Minnesota State University, Mankato Department of Theatre and Dance presents: Good for Otto.
In a rural mental health center, a psychiatrist, his colleague, and six patients teeter between breakdown and survival, dedication and humanity against the adversary of mental illness to hold onto the need to fight and live. Inspired by a real clinic, David Rabe's Good for Otto is a modern play about a system that itself has gone mad.
This production explores mental health and illness subject matter including suicide, PTSD and abuse, but director Vladimir Rovinsky notes the areas of light in the story through imagination and song. “This production, although heavy at times, explores themes of hope through the characters relationships,” says Rovinsky.
Tickets are $17 regular, $15 for seniors ages 65 and older, children under 16 and groups of 15 or more; and $12 for MSU students.
