The Department of Music presents roots/blues musician Todd Clouser in concert 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 31 in Halling Recital Hall of the Earley Center for Performing Arts, 320 Maywood Avenue.

Clouser fronts an explosive trio, A Love Electric, consisting of three nationalities featuring Clouser (guitar and vocals), Aaron Cruz (bass), and Hernan Hecht (drums). The trio has been hailed as the tomorrow of creative rock by Mexico City’s leading newspaper, La Jornada, and has performed at some of the world’s finest rock festivals, jazz clubs, and cultural landmarks. The group is recognized at the forefront of a new generation of post genre artists, and carries the sonic legacies of psychedelic rock, New York City’s downtown scene, and introspective song into new territories.

The Prague Post calls A Love Electric’s sound “blistering”. Time Out Barcelona writes the A Love Electric experience is “illuminating”. NPR calls Clouser “fascinating”. The three musicians have performed with Steven Bernstein, Anton Fier, Billy Martin, Cyro Baptista, members of Dire Straits, Keb Mo, Tim Berne, Ely Guerra, and more. In three years of aggressive touring, the trio has performed throughout the United States, Germany, Spain, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Mexico, and Argentina.
