Andreas Theatre, Earley Center for Performing Arts
Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Department of Theatre & Dance continues the 2020-2021 Studio Season with Atreus in the Andreas Theatre at the Early Center for the Performing Arts.
Atreus is an original play staged in Ancient Greece and is written and directed by third-year MFA Directing candidate Yaureybo Jordán. “Intertwining themes like destiny, gods, power, empathy, redemption, and faith, I present a play about Atreus’ life. He is not the usual protagonist and may not be an ideal person, but frailty is human, and he wants to tell his story to whoever is willing to listen,” says Jordán about the play.
Based on recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and the Minnesota Department of Health, the Department of Theatre and Dance will continue to limit the theater capacity to 25% to ensure social distancing. All patrons are required to wear masks for the duration of their time in the Performing Arts Center, and the performers will also be wearing masks.
Atreus runs Jan. 20-23, 2020 at 7:30 p.m. and Jan. 23 and 24 at 2:00 p.m. in the Andreas Theatre at the Earley Center for Performing Arts, Minnesota State University, Mankato.
Tickets are $10 regular, $9 for seniors ages 65 and older and children under 16; and $8 for MSU students.
The box office is open 4-6 p.m. weekdays in the lobby of the Performing Arts Center. Tickets are available online at MSUTheatre.com
