Communication Skills

LO 1: Create messages appropriate to the audience, purpose, context, and community.

Graduates of the program will:

  • Demonstrate cultural competency and literacy to communicate effectively with diverse groups.
  • Have proficiency in oral, written, digital, and mediated communication.

Communication Analysis

LO 2: Apply theories and concepts for making sense of communication and culture.

Graduates of the program will:

  • Demonstrate the ability to investigate social, cultural, and relational issues using a communication lens.
  • Utilize communication literacy for problem solving.

Communication Research

LO 3: Develop critical thinking for evaluating, applying, and engaging in communication research.

  • Conduct original or applied research.
  • Engage in communication inquiry to address questions and issues that impact community.

Communication Ethics

LO 4: Engage in communication for social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
