Art & Design

Our program is devoted to the development of concepts, attitudes and skills in the visual arts within a broad university curriculum of liberal arts orientation.


Our Dance Program is a dynamic and growing field of study that provides students with a rich program of study, multiple degree options, diverse performance opportunities and off-campus events. Students receive a comprehensive education grounded in a liberal arts education.


English students learn the flexible thinking, creativity, and empathy that the current job market demands and global citizenship requires. Our classes cultivate the adaptable skills of reading and writing, creative and literary thinking, analysis and research, and cutting-edge presentation skills.

Film & Media Studies

Students in Film and Media Studies look at all aspects of film and media, including aesthetic, creative, critical, cultural, technical, and theoretical perspectives.


The Humanities Program examines common issues, ideas, and themes that run throughout different cultures and throughout human history. Students will study the roles of human expression in shaping how individuals and cultures understand their connections to each other and to the world.

Interdisciplinary Studies

The Interdisciplinary Studies degree is designed to give students an opportunity to create their own programs and earn an undergraduate degree.

Liberal Arts & Sciences (AA Degree)

This Associate of Arts (AA) degree is intended for those students who wish to pursue a two-year balanced program of liberal education.

Music & Entertainment Industries

Our program reaches beyond expectations, both creatively and academically, and students gain hands-on experience in professional settings. Find your passion creating music, performing on stage, managing behind-the-scenes business details, or educating the next generation.


The study of philosophy works to clarify thinking about questions of fundamental importance, and to improve justification for given answers. We aim to promote student development as independent and critical thinkers and we guide students in their reflective engagement.

School of Communication

The School of Communication’s flexible, integrated and multidisciplinary approach will prepare graduates to efficiently and effectively navigate this ever-changing digital world. It will combine innovative practice skills and theoretical grounding with experiential learning opportunities.

Theatre Arts

Our program offers an array of opportunities exploring a wide range of dramatic literature and movement possibilities in three performance venues. We provide students the highest caliber of training in theatre and the southern Minnesota region with a multifaceted, high-quality theatrical experience.

World Languages & Cultures

Proficiency in another language opens doors to opportunities in many professional fields. Students acquire knowledge and skills in global citizenship, diversity, and critical thinking with local and worldwide relevance. We also offer study-abroad opportunities to enhance the learning experience.
