Study Abroad

Our students can take advantage of the many study abroad programs through the Kearney International Center, some of which allow students to pay the tuition rate of their home institution, thus reducing study abroad costs.

Faculty-Led Study Abroad

Gender and Land: Activism in Costa Rica (May 10-17, 2020)

Students from any department or program would be interested in this one-credit, interdisciplinary course that focuses on Costa Rican leadership, activism, culture, and politics. Students will travel to Costa Rica to learn about the intersections between land, migration, women’s activism, and ecotourism all within the context of Costa Rican politics and history. Students will meet with politicians and officials from Costa Rican government ministries, as well as nonprofit groups that support migrant women and those that empower and educate young girls. In addition, students will learn about the benefits and critiques of ecotourism while hiking in the rainforest, swimming in hot springs, and experiencing the Atlantic coast.
