The Maverick Machine Athletic Bands offer student and community musicians an opportunity to bring spirit, energy and enthusiasm to Minnesota State Mankato athletic events. Musicians of all levels can participate in our musically innovative bands without making an intensive time commitment.
"We aren’t a group of people that play music for sports. We are all parts of a machine. Without one piece it won’t work properly. We are the first to arrive and the last to leave. We are, the Maverick Machine." - Courtney Heisterkamp (Baerg) 2016 Alumna.
Students who participate in the Machine have the opportunity to receive scholarships. Incoming first-year students can audition/apply for Talent Grants and returning members can apply for Music Scholarships.
The Machine is open to any musician or colorguard member who has prior experience in the marching arts. It is our goal to include anyone and everyone that has an interest marching in the band.
Please consider a tax-deductive donation to help the Machine continue to grow and march to the beat of our drums. Your donation will help pay for uniforms, instruments, and travel expenses.
By joining the Machine you will be joining the largest student organization on the campus of Minnesota State Mankato. You will have the opportunity to perform for thousands of Maverick fans in one of the most unique collegiate marching ensembles in the upper Midwest. You also get into the Intercollegiate Athletic events for FREE and have the opportunity to travel with our teams.
In the Fall of 2013, the Maverick Machine returned with 30 members as a pep band and we have now grown to include over 180 students annually. Our goal is to entertain our audience and support our Maverick Intercollegiate Athletic programs.
