Choral Invitational Concert

The Minnesota State University, Mankato Invitational Choral Festival will be held Thursday, Nov. 9 at 7:00 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Mankato, 632 South Broad Street.

The University's concert choir and chamber singers, under the direction of Dr. Elisabeth Cherland, will perform. Participant schools Bloomington High School and Blue Earth High School will perform. Individual choral students from the region have been invited to attend the festival and perform as well. The festival provides top-quality performing and listening experiences for high school choir students.

During the festival day, the combined voices of the high school choirs, along with the University concert choir, create a large festival choir that works with Dr. Elisabeth Cherland on two performance pieces. The choirs will also work with University faculty on repertoire that they have prepared for the day. The festival concludes with a concert that will feature each individual choir, high school student soloists, the University concert choir, chamber singers, and the festival massed choir.
