The Center for Economic Education, under Center Director and Professor of Economics, Dr. Michael Spencer, and with support from Economics faculty and staff, hosted the 2024 Southwest Regional Economics Challenge at Minnesota State University, Mankato on April 5, 2024. 
 
During the event, teams of high school students demonstrate their knowledge of economics in three rounds of testing, after which the two highest-scoring teams/schools from each division advance to a Quiz Bowl round, the winner of which advances to the State Economics Challenge. In collaboration with the Minnesota Council on Economic Education (MCEE), cash prizes, certificates, and plaques were given out during the fun event.
